Join Darling Downs Health in Toowoomba as an Assistant in Nursing. This role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, hands-on patient support alongside a dedicated team. You will contribute to daily wellbeing and build clinical experience within a community-focused environment.

Your Role:

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will be instrumental in supporting safe, person-centred care and enhancing the patient experience. Your responsibilities include assisting individuals with daily routines, maintaining their dignity, and collaborating with nurses to monitor wellbeing.

Your daily contributions will involve:

  • Working closely with nurses to observe, report, and respond to changes in patient wellbeing.
  • Creating a safe and respectful environment that upholds privacy and dignity.
  • Contributing to a positive team culture and continuous improvement in care delivery.

About You:

You possess empathy and reliability in your approach to work. You take pride in supporting others, maintain attention to detail, and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues. You understand the impact of small actions in making a meaningful difference and are motivated by delivering care with compassion and respect as part of a team. Your focus is on helping individuals feel seen, safe, and supported.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Confidence working under supervision and contributing to team-based care.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills within a clinical environment.
  • A commitment to safety, infection control, and continuous learning.

Experience in hospital or aged care settings, and/or additional training in acute care or patient support, would be advantageous.

You will embody the values of compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage in your daily interactions and care for others. Your dedication will directly support improved patient experiences and stronger, more connected communities.
