Mercy Community is seeking a skilled clinical leader for their Townsville facility. This is a pivotal leadership position, offering support to the Facility Manager and providing clinical oversight, team direction, and accountability for resident care outcomes. About the Role

The Care Manager assists the Facility Manager with overall accountability for clinical governance, quality, and resident outcomes within the home. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing hands-on clinical leadership and oversight.
  • Ensuring care plans, assessments, and documentation are compliant and meaningful.
  • Overseeing risk areas such as wounds, falls, medication, nutrition, hydration, and continence.
  • Supporting SIRS management and incident response.
  • Preparing the home for audits and accreditation activities.
  • Coaching, guiding, and holding nursing and care staff accountable.
  • Fostering a strong, positive, and safe clinical culture.

This role is best suited for an individual who is confident, remains calm under pressure, and is capable of leading through change.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Strong experience in residential aged care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AN-ACC, accreditation, and aged care reform.
  • Experience leading and developing clinical teams.
  • Confidence in managing audits, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication skills with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive approach to risk management and quality improvement.
