Bendigo Health is seeking a Clinical Aged Care Needs Assessor to join their team. This role offers an opportunity to work with a leading regional health service with a commitment to excellent care.

  • Salary per hour (exc. super): As per Allied Health or Nursing EBA
  • Hours per fortnight: Up to 72 hours
  • Employment Status: Ongoing Part Time (minimum 3 days and up to 9 day fortnight)
  • Other Requirements: 2026 Flu Vaccination

The Clinical Aged Care Needs Assessor is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments for older people within the Aged Care Planning Regional area of Victoria (VIC 3 - Loddon Mallee). This role is part of the My Aged Care Single Assessment Workforce, focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred assessments to support older Australians in accessing appropriate aged care services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting face-to-face needs assessments, which will involve travel within the Loddon Mallee region.
  • Performing remote assessments via telehealth.
  • Providing clinical expertise and guidance to Non-Clinical Aged Care Needs Assessors to ensure assessments are accurate, holistic, and aligned with relevant aged care standards and policies.
  • Undertaking other functions such as delegation and triage.

Your New Division

The Community and Continuing Care Division provides a broad spectrum of high-quality, person-centred care programs and services to consumers in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Each service within the division aims to ensure holistic care and improve the overall well-being of patients and communities.

The Community Services team enhances health and wellbeing outcomes in the Loddon Mallee region through six regional offices. This team encompasses:

  • Aged Care Assessment (on behalf of My Aged Care)
  • Community Allied Health
  • Community Care
  • Carer Support
  • Community Nursing & Home Care

The Continuing Care team delivers high-quality services across the Loddon Mallee region, including:

  • Dental Care
  • Chronic Disease Management
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation
  • Support for People Transitioning Home
  • Diabetes Management
  • Geriatric Management and Assessment

The Allied Health team provides comprehensive care across the continuum, offering expert services in audiology, dietetics, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, psychology, social work, and speech pathology, supported by allied health assistants.

The Geriatric Medicine Team comprises Geriatricians, Rehabilitation physicians, Palliative care physicians, registrars, and junior medical staff, working across inpatient, outpatient, and home settings.

The Community and Continuing Care Division also holds the professional portfolio of Chief Allied Health Officer. This role, along with allied health discipline managers, provides professional governance for all allied health services across Bendigo Health.
