The Department of Health - Queensland is seeking a Clinical Facilitator Preventative Health to play a significant role in supporting the ongoing professional development of nursing and midwifery staff within West Moreton Health.

The Clinical Facilitator (CF) position offers advanced clinical knowledge and care expertise in managing diverse patient conditions. This role contributes to the effective operation of clinical units and teams through role modelling, problem-solving, and the application of best practice principles in clinical care, education, leadership, and portfolio management. In collaboration with the Preventative Health Nurse/Midwife Educator and Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers within the Preventative Health Division, the CF will deliver training, education, and professional development from an operational standpoint. This is a permanent part-time position.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Relevant clinical experience and contemporary knowledge aligned with the work allocation portfolio areas – Preventative Health.
  • Proficiency in designing, delivering, and evaluating clinical education activities that support clinicians in delivering evidence-based contemporary care.
  • Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills, enabling accurate, timely, and effective information transfer to clinicians in both individual and group education settings, supporting patient-centred care delivery and staff professional development.
  • The ability to serve as a role model by fostering the professional development of others; applying evidence and best practice to patient/consumer care; establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships; and managing competing priorities to achieve positive individual and organisational outcomes.
  • The capacity to work collaboratively and efficiently within both clinical and education teams to meet service imperatives within designated timeframes and available resources.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Vaccination against, and ongoing vaccination against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
  • Evidence of qualification/s and current registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is required for appointment to this position.
