Location: Gununa Work Type: Full-time Salary: $113,979 to $122,048 p.a. + Benefits / Allowances

The North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) delivers public health services across approximately 300,000 square kilometres, supporting remote communities throughout North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria. About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse within the Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (AODS), you will undertake a key function in delivering expert, person-centred care to individuals and families affected by substance use.

Working both autonomously and collaboratively, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership.
  • Coordinating complex care.
  • Contributing to the delivery of specialised programs that support harm minimisation and recovery in a culturally diverse community setting.

Benefits and allowances available include:

  • Isolation Bonus: AUD$3,695 for 1 year of service, AUD$11,085 for 2 years, and AUD$7,390 annually thereafter (pro rata for part-time employees).
  • Travel Allowance: Two return airfares per annum for full-time employees (including spouse/dependents) or one return airfare per annum for part-time employees to the nearest east coast provincial city, in conjunction with recreation leave.
  • Superannuation: 12.75% employer contribution.
  • Leave: Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
  • Salary Packaging: Tax savings are available through salary sacrificing options.
  • Professional Development: Two weeks per annum travel as required, with enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences covered.
  • Accommodation: Staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months.

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary degree qualification.
  • Appropriate registration/licences.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening, including Criminal History checks, will be conducted for the successful applicant.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
