Clinical Nurse Consultant (Child and Family)

Department of Health - Queensland

Longreach

Full-time, On-site

This role involves leading the provision of expert, evidence-based child and family healthcare, utilising advanced clinical expertise to achieve significant outcomes for children and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Championing the implementation of the Putting Qld Kids First strategy.
  • Driving best practice, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement across the service.
  • Inspiring and mentoring multidisciplinary teams through expert clinical leadership, guidance, education, and support to build capability and deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Providing expert clinical leadership in child and family health clinical practice, aligned with contemporary and evidence-based models of care within the child and family health team across the Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS).
  • Actively facilitating clinical, professional, and organisational learning.
  • Proactively managing clinical change to address emerging needs relevant to Child Health Nursing.
  • Providing direct and indirect care as required.
  • Collaborating with staff to ensure safe, quality healthcare.
  • Delivering integrated, family-centred services that promote optimal health, wellbeing, and developmental outcomes for children.
  • Playing a key role in advancing the Putting Queensland Kids First initiatives to drive improved health and wellbeing outcomes for children and families across the region.
