The Rehabilitation Unit, situated on the Rockhampton Hospital Campus, offers subacute services. This specialised care area is dedicated to optimising an individual's functional capacity and that of significant others, assisting them in achieving their lifestyle aspirations. The Rehabilitation Service relocated to a new, purpose-built facility in September 2009, featuring 16 inpatient beds and 15 Day Hospital places (bed equivalents). The service operates 24/7 for inpatient care and during weekday business hours for ambulatory services. Rehabilitation Services also extends outreach to four step-down rehabilitation beds at Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service, as well as Mt Morgan Hospital.

About the Role:

• Provide advanced clinical leadership as a Clinical Nurse, coordinating patient care within a specialty area and supporting nursing and medical teams.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring safe and patient-centred outcomes.
• Lead quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, including adherence to policies, risk management, audits, and participation in service development.
• Support education and professional development by mentoring staff, fostering a learning environment, and engaging in self-directed learning and reflective practice.

About You:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a valid annual practising certificate is mandatory. Postgraduate qualifications in the specialty are highly desirable.
• Possess proven clinical expertise with advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills with experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams while promoting contemporary nursing practice.
• Exhibit excellent communication and education skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff, build effective relationships, and communicate confidently with patients, colleagues, and the broader community.

What We Offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $3,664 p.m., comprising:

• An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
