Diversional Therapist - Aged Care - Toowoomba Region

MKR Recruitment is seeking a passionate and experienced Diversional Therapist for a leadership role within a residential aged care facility located in the Toowoomba region.

This full-time, on-site position offers a salary of $38 – $40 per hour. The role is ideal for an individual enthusiastic about enhancing residents' quality of life and prepared to advance into a leadership capacity.

The Role

Reporting to the Facility Manager, your responsibilities will include coordinating engaging and meaningful lifestyle programs, alongside providing daily leadership and support to the lifestyle team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring, and supporting the Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant team.
• Coordinating and delivering person-centred lifestyle and wellbeing programs.
• Ensuring activities align with residents’ interests, abilities, and cultural needs.
• Supporting compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and activity records.
• Engaging with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Liaising with the wider community in Bundaberg.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Previous experience in a lifestyle or activities role within aged care or a similar setting.
• Demonstrated leadership or team-leading experience, or readiness to step up.
• A genuine passion for improving residents’ wellbeing and engagement.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Understanding of person-centred care and aged care standards.
• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, or an equivalent qualification such as a Diploma in Community Services.
• A current "C" class driver's license.

Work Details
