Eastern Health - Emergency Department - CCRN and Registered Nurse

Location: Ringwood Work Type: Part-time, Onsite

Eastern Health is seeking passionate and enthusiastic Registered Nurses and Critical Care Registered Nurses for permanent full-time or part-time positions within the Maroondah Hospital Emergency & Short Stay Department.

About the Department The Maroondah Hospital Emergency Department manages approximately 50,000 patient presentations annually, including critically unwell patients requiring immediate stabilisation and a significant number of paediatric cases. The department is equipped with 35 treatment spaces, featuring 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated paediatric and fast-track areas, and a combined paediatric/adult Short Stay Unit.

About the Role This position offers an opportunity for Registered Nurses to join a highly dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to a "Patient's First" philosophy. This approach emphasizes quality patient care delivered in partnership with patients and their families. The department fosters a culture of teamwork to achieve excellence in patient care, supported by a robust network designed to help staff "be and do their best." We are committed to supporting individual career development through educational and clinical support, provided by Emergency Clinical Nurse Educators, Clinical Support Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and the Leadership team. About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A strong commitment to high-quality patient care and experience.
  • The ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
  • A personal commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in acute nursing.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Previous Emergency Nursing experience.
  • A Post Graduate qualification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing.
  • Advanced clinical skills in Adult Emergency/Critical Care Nursing.
  • Advanced clinical skills in Paediatric Emergency and/or Paediatric Nursing.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation Handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional upon this being up to date prior to employment. Vaccination and screening for immunity to vaccine-preventable disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.
