Doctors At Westlands Doctors on Playford is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Enrolled or Registered Nurse for a full-time, onsite position in Whyalla Norrie. This role is ideal for a professional and cheerful applicant looking to complement the duties of our current practice nurse within a fast-paced environment. The practice has a strong focus on chronic disease management.

Salary: $79,000 – $90,000 per year Work type: Full-time Location: Whyalla Norrie (Onsite)

Job tasks and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a professional and efficient medical service, delivering high-quality patient care. The medical centres are fully computerised, requiring solid computer skills.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing a broad range of services.
• Managing the patient recall and reminder system.
• Monitoring and maintaining clinical stock levels.
• Performing general medical administrative duties, including assisting at the front counter.
• Working within a team and independently.
• Assisting with patient assessments, including updating patient files, taking measurements, and vital signs.
• Sending recalls and reminders for prevention activities or patient reviews, and discussing test results with doctors.
• Assisting with stock control and ordering supplies.
• Assisting with immunisations, which may include the national immunisation program or travel vaccines.
• Providing wound care services.
• Assisting GPs with minor procedures.
• Coordinating patient referrals with other providers.
• Providing patient education on various topics.
• Supporting patients with chronic disease management, including helping to create management plans and monitoring progress.
• Assisting the practice with accreditation activities.
• Participating in clinical discussions and contributing ideas for service quality improvement.

Skills and experience:

• Sound knowledge of the Immunisation schedule and cold chain management.
• Experience in dressings and wound care.
• Ability to facilitate Chronic Disease Management Plans and Health Assessments.
• Experience using Medical Director.
• Treatment room management.
• GP support and assisting in minor surgical procedures.
• Patient triage.
• ECG & Spirometry.

Other important requirements:

• Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
• The ability to work unsupervised and supervised.
• The ability to liaise with GPs and Allied Health Professionals.
• The ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
• Must have BLS (Basic Life Support).
