McGrath Cancer Care Nurse - Metastatic Breast CNC (Grade 2)

St Vincent’s Public Hospital Sydney is seeking a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse - Metastatic Breast Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 2) for a part-time, maximum term contract role. This position is based onsite in Darlinghurst and offers a salary of $135,826.04 - $138,534.10 per annum, plus superannuation.

About the Role This role involves:

  • Providing clinical leadership and acting as a role model to support the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred care in line with the McGrath Foundation Model of Care.
  • Active participation in the multidisciplinary breast cancer team, conducting comprehensive assessments of patients and carers, and coordinating ongoing care.
  • Delivering expert clinical support, information, and advice to patients with metastatic breast cancer, their families, and carers across the care continuum.
  • Serving as a specialist resource for healthcare professionals within the St Vincent's Health Network Sydney, offering advanced clinical expertise in metastatic breast cancer management.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of specialty-specific education programs and supporting professional development within the clinical team.
  • Leading and enhancing specialist metastatic breast cancer services through innovative, evidence-based practice, clinical guideline implementation, and coordination of treatment pathways, referrals, and supportive care services.

About You You will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration nursing experience, including at least 3 years full-time recent experience in Oncology, Palliative Care, or Cancer Stream-specific nursing.
  • Approved post-registration nursing qualifications relevant to the field or equivalent qualifications and/or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent's Hospital Sydney.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the physical and psychosocial needs of patients with metastatic breast cancer, including common treatment regimens, and the ability to provide effective education and support to patients, families, and carers.
  • Advanced clinical assessment, care planning, and complex case management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, leadership, teaching, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to lead and implement evidence-based practice improvements, including experience in policy, procedure, guideline development, and strategic and clinical service planning.

About the Hospital This role is based at St Vincent's Hospital, Darlinghurst. It is a busy inner-city hospital situated in a vibrant area surrounded by cafes, galleries, theatres, parks, nightlife, and nearby beaches. St Vincent's is a centre for expert clinical care for at-risk populations and is closely partnered with universities and affiliated research institutes located on campus. The hospital has centres of excellence in heart and lung transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cancer care, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health, homeless health, drug and alcohol services, and correctional health.
