SA Health - Women’s and Children’s Health Network North Adelaide

Salary: $130,190 to $136,010 per annum (RN/M3 - Registered Nurse/Midwife LV 3) plus 12% Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits. Work Type: Permanent part-time (0.53 FTE).

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) is South Australia’s primary provider of care for women, babies, children, and young people. WCHN is dedicated to advancing healthcare through compassion, innovation, and excellence, with a strong focus on community engagement.

About the Role: The Nurse/Midwife Consultant – WCH@Home role involves providing expert clinical nursing and midwifery leadership and care to patients through virtual, face-to-face, and Hospital in the Home services. This position supports clinical decision-making, complex case management, education, evidence-based practice, and the implementation of care models to improve patient outcomes and access to care. The Nurse/Midwife Consultant is responsible for clinical practice, professional advice, care coordination, and the promotion of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver direct, expert clinical nursing/midwifery care, select and implement various therapeutic interventions, and provide individual case management.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes, and lead within their area of expertise.
  • Maintain a contemporary professional practice portfolio demonstrating postgraduate qualifications, learning, and practice experience that supports the application of knowledge and skills expected for the role.
  • Contribute specific expertise to monitor and evaluate research activities to enhance nursing or midwifery practice and service delivery.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing teams, fostering best practice, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a positive learning environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and experience in relevant nursing/midwifery practice.
  • Demonstrated ability in clinical leadership, teamwork, communication, and change management.
  • Experience in the education, supervision, and support of nursing/midwifery staff and students.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
