Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a part-time Nurse Educator to join the Education and Research Unit. This onsite position offers an hourly rate of $70.58 to $76.63, plus superannuation and benefits.

The Education and Research Unit is dedicated to providing Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services, and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives. These services aim to support nursing and midwifery staff in achieving best practice health service delivery. The Unit is overseen by the Nursing Director of Education and Research.

About the Role:

The Nurse Educator, a Registered Nurse (RN), will operate at an advanced practice level. This role is accountable for designing, implementing, and assessing nursing education programs, managing educational resources, and offering nursing expertise on educational matters within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).

This position will lead and foster a culture that encourages development and inquiry, actively promoting clinical, professional, and organisational learning.

Responsibilities include providing nursing care, including complex care, that adheres to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Standards for practice and other relevant professional practice standards.

The Nurse Educator will offer education leadership and expertise, serving as a clinical resource, mentor, role model, and technical expert within the multidisciplinary team.

About You:

To be considered for this position, you must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

A postgraduate qualification at AQF level 9 with a significant component of clinical education, or a research higher degree, is a requirement. If the successful applicant does not hold this qualification, a commitment to completing the required postgraduate study within an agreed timeframe is expected and will be part of the performance review process.

You will demonstrate the ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory to professional issues. This includes the Scope of Clinical Practice for all Nursing and Midwifery roles, the Supported Practice Framework, and the application of requirements for refresher, reskilling, and re-entry participants.

What We Offer:

The total remuneration value for this role is up to $86,683.98 per annum, which includes:

  • An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63.
  • A 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
