The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking a Registered or Clinical Nurse with critical care experience for a part-time, fixed-term contract role within the Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency Unit (ICU/HDU) at Lyell McEwin Hospital. This position is available up to 30 July 2027, with hours of work set at 32 per week.

Lyell McEwin Health Service serves the growing communities of northern Adelaide and operates as one of South Australia's busiest metropolitan hospitals. This role offers meaningful shift work within a supported, high-acuity environment.

Your Role in Critical Care

Within the ICU/HDU at Lyell McEwin Health Service, you will provide evidence-based nursing care to critically and acutely unwell patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering skilled, patient-centred nursing care in the ICU/HDU for a range of complex presentations.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualised care plans.
• Monitoring, assessing, and responding to changes in patient condition with clinical confidence.
• Contributing to a unit culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated experience in an ICU, HDU, or critical care environment.
• Sound knowledge of critical care principles and the capacity to manage high-dependency patients.
• Effective communication skills and a commitment to person-centred, safe care delivery.
• Ability to work collaboratively within NALHN's multidisciplinary model of care.
• Current immunisation compliance as per SA Health's requirements for clinical staff.

To be eligible, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
