About Us: Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service is dedicated to supporting individuals through challenging life circumstances. We deliver specialist mental health, alcohol, and other drug care across the region, working with health and community partners to foster recovery, confidence, independence, and hope.

About the Role:

  • Provide specialist nursing care to adults with acute mental illness, including comprehensive assessments, care planning, and evidence-based interventions within a secure inpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with consumers, families, and the multidisciplinary team to support recovery, facilitate safe discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care between inpatient and community services.
  • Lead and coordinate clinical operations during your shift, ensuring safe, high-quality care for consumers with complex mental health needs.
  • Guide and mentor nursing staff and students, fostering professional development, reflective practice, and a positive team culture.
  • Promote safe, person-centred care by identifying and managing clinical risks, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and upholding high standards of mental health practice.

About You:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, demonstrating a strong understanding of contemporary clinical practice, patient safety, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement, clinical governance, and risk management, with the ability to contribute to accreditation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and support for positive workplace outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and digital skills, including experience with clinical information systems, data analysis, report preparation, and supporting quality and safety programs.

  • An hourly rate between $55.07 - $70.64 p.h. (inclusive of a 25% casual loading).
