Registered Nurse, Palliative Care

BlueCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its specialised in-home palliative care team in Cairns. This is a permanent, full-time role. Job sharing will be considered.

As a Registered Nurse with BlueCare, you will be part of a growing statewide palliative care service. You will play a key role in expanding these services across Queensland, contributing to the organisation's mission of providing high-quality end-of-life care to clients and their families within their homes. This role offers a diverse experience combining professional development in community services and palliative care, supported by robust clinical structures and innovative service models.

Primarily based in Mareeba or Atherton, you will have the opportunity to engage with various communities across Queensland. You will be supported by the palliative care team and the wider BlueCare community services teams.

Your Part in the Team:

  • Provide high-quality end-of-life care to clients and their families.
  • Contribute to the expansion of BlueCare's palliative care services across Queensland.
  • Engage with diverse communities across the state.

What Makes a Difference for Us:

  • Current Registered Nurse Licence and Registration Certificate in the employing State.
  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Mid to senior level proficiency in general nursing, demonstrating clinical expertise and a person-centered care approach.
  • Prior experience or ongoing pursuit of qualifications in palliative care, pain management, or acute care is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in effective communication and collaboration with clients and stakeholders to address care requirements.
  • A current driver's license and the confidence to navigate rural and remote areas of Queensland.
