Location: Broken Hill

Work Type: Permanent Full Time

Remuneration: $79,368.82 - $111,427.34 per annum + Superannuation. This position is eligible for the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme, offering an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to $10,000 (conditions apply, may be pro-rata'd).

This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in providing patient-centred palliative care for individuals with advanced life-limiting illnesses, their families, and carers. You will be a member of the Specialist Community Palliative Care Team, delivering care across various settings through direct, shared, or consultative approaches. Collaboration with other FWLHD palliative care health professionals and functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team, including primary care, specialist services, community-based services, inpatient, aged care, and volunteers, are key aspects of this position.

Application Instructions:

To be considered for this position, please address the following selection criteria thoroughly in your application:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), including recent clinical experience relevant to the role and demonstrated understanding and practical application of palliative care pain and symptom management.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through information technology, written and verbal means, alongside sound interpersonal skills for sensitive communication with a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary care team, including the capacity to prioritise and organise workload, and demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the challenges associated with rural and remote palliative care community nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and practice development.
