Hamilton Island Enterprises is seeking an experienced and passionate Activities Manager to lead the delivery of luxury land and water-based experiences for guests at qualia. This role involves overseeing a diverse activities program, from private vessel charters and guided activities to bespoke guest experiences, while leading a team of Activities Attendants and Coxswains to uphold the exceptional service standards synonymous with the qualia brand.

Your Role

As Activities Manager, your responsibilities include planning, managing, and delivering qualia's activities program. You will oversee daily operations, team performance, vessel scheduling, safety compliance, and guest engagement. A key focus will be ensuring every activity reflects qualia's luxury standards while maintaining operational efficiency and guest safety.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Lead and manage all qualia land and water-based guest activities.
  • Coordinate vessel charters, tours, and guest experiences.
  • Manage Activities Attendants and Coxswains, including rostering and training.
  • Schedule activities and charters through electronic booking systems.
  • Coordinate vessel maintenance and operational readiness.
  • Ensure all guest waivers and risk notifications are completed correctly.
  • Develop and maintain activity programs, including wet weather alternatives.
  • Monitor budgets, operational costs, and business performance.
  • Conduct staff training, performance reviews, and compliance monitoring.
  • Maintain high presentation standards across equipment, vessels, and facilities.
  • Liaise with Marine Operations, Front Office, Tour Desk, and other departments.
  • Respond to guest enquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Manage inventory, stocktakes, and equipment replacement requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with WH&S, marine legislation, and Australian Standards.
  • Support emergency response and island volunteer initiatives as required.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Current Coxswain Grade 1 Certificate (Essential)
  • Current unrestricted Driver Licence (Essential)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Advanced Resuscitation qualifications (Essential)
  • Previous management experience in a similar role (Essential)
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service focus with a commitment to guest safety
  • High level of personal fitness
  • Professional presentation and grooming standards
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
