Assistant Cafe Manager - Belmont
Company: Dome Coffees Australia Location: Belmont Work Type: Full-time Work Setting: Onsite
Dome Coffees Australia is seeking an Assistant Cafe Manager for our Belmont location. This full-time, onsite position offers an opportunity for individuals with the right mindset to step into a leadership role, even without prior formal management experience.
About the Role: We are looking for individuals who can lead shifts with energy, a positive outlook, and a commitment to maximising team performance and guest satisfaction. While a management title is not a prerequisite, your personal attributes are paramount; we are prepared to provide the necessary training.
This role is suited for individuals who:
- Excel in dynamic, high-paced environments.
- Demonstrate a commitment to thoroughness, even during demanding periods.
- Proactively offer assistance without explicit direction.
- Maintain composure, positivity, and a problem-solving approach under pressure.
- Possess a genuine concern for the guest experience beyond the product served.
Previous experience in fast food, retail, cafes, delis, restaurants, or any setting that values teamwork, pace, and resilience is relevant. If you have been a reliable team member, we can provide the training to develop your skills further.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading shifts directly from the operational floor.
- Providing support and motivation to a varied team during busy periods.
- Contributing actively across various operational areas, including the till, kitchen, and floor service.
- Assisting the Café Manager with cost control measures.
- Upholding the established high standards of Dôme consistently, across all shifts.
Comprehensive training, ongoing coaching, and dedicated support will be provided to facilitate your development in this role.
What We Offer:
- Permanent full-time employment, comprising 5 shifts per week.
- Practical leadership development and mentorship.
- A work environment founded on mutual respect, fairness, and collaboration.
- A position that recognises effort, fosters growth, and values its people.
This Role May Not Be For You If:
- You prefer slower-paced or highly predictable workdays.
- You are disinclined to be actively on your feet and engaged on the floor.
- You tend to avoid responsibility when faced with busy or challenging situations.
If you are prepared to take on new challenges, learn quickly, and be part of an organisation that genuinely values its staff, we encourage you to apply.
Application Instructions: A cover letter is required with your application. Please use this to explain why you would be a strong candidate for this role, rather than solely detailing your employment history.
