About the Role:
As Assistant Manager, you will contribute to the overall park operation and lead the Reception and Housekeeping teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences. You will be a proactive leader who enjoys developing staff, upholding high operational standards, and fostering a positive team culture. Working closely with the Park Manager, you will gain insight into the commercial dimensions of the business, preparing you for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Reception and Housekeeping teams.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Maintain Discovery Way standards throughout the park.
- Support rostering, daily operations, and guest service delivery.
- Assist with financial performance, reporting, and operational planning.
- Cultivate an engaged, inclusive team culture that prioritises employee wellbeing.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence across the park.
About You:
We are seeking candidates with:
- Leadership experience in hospitality, accommodation, tourism, or a comparable operational setting.
- A passion for developing people and leading with empathy.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to confidently lead a diverse workforce, including working holiday makers and seasonal employees.
- Commercial curiosity and a desire to develop business and financial knowledge.
- Enjoyment in hands-on work while managing operational and administrative duties.
- A desire for a long-term career with clear progression towards Park Management.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Prior to a job offer, candidates are required to consent to a Federal Police Clearance for criminal records. A valid Working with Children's Check specific to the state is also necessary.
This role may involve responsibilities such as heavy lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with chemicals and machinery.
