Assistant Manager – Gas Hound Bar and Kitchen

Hallmark Hospitality is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager to join the team at Gas Hound Bar and Kitchen in Newstead. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking a challenge and the next step in venue management.

The Role

Responsibilities encompass both operational and administrative functions. Your leadership and customer service abilities will be key in guiding the team to success.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the daily operations of the venue, including bar service, food service, and functions.
• Ensuring venue readiness for service and briefing the team.
• Motivating and fostering culture within a dynamic venue with a capable team.
• Upholding high standards of service, culture, and safety.
• Assisting with front-of-house recruitment, induction, and ongoing training.
• Leading by example and promoting best practices across the business.
• Managing relationships with key suppliers, wholesalers, and distributors.
• Supporting the Venue Manager in implementing cost control measures.
• Ensuring adherence to all aspects of the liquor licence, food safety requirements, and general workplace health and safety.

About You

Success in this role requires an approachable and sociable personality, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful, you will possess:

• One year of experience as an Assistant Venue Manager or Duty Manager within the hospitality industry. This is essential.
• A solid understanding of best practice hospitality procedures, workplace health and safety, and quality standards.
• Demonstrated drive for revenue growth, with an understanding of budgets, wage, and COG targets.
• RMLV, RSA, and First Aid certifications. These are essential.
• An Approved Managers License is desirable, but can be obtained upon commencement.
• Availability to work weekend and night shifts on a rotating roster.
