Marlow Hotel Management is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for the Intersection Tavern in Ramsgate. This full-time, onsite role offers a salary of $77,000 – $87,000 per year. The position requires a strong focus on guest experience and involves working closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy hospitality venue.
This role is suited for a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the front, and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences.
About the Role
As the Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing food and beverage operations.
- Managing functions and events.
- Leading a team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensuring operational standards are maintained during shifts.
- Meeting compliance requirements.
- Maintaining the venue’s presentation at the highest level.
- Managing key performance indicators across your department.
- Working closely with the management team to drive operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the bistro and functions/events spaces.
- Lead, coach, and develop staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Coordinate and manage functions and events, ensuring smooth delivery from enquiry through to execution.
- Ensure all function bookings, deposits, and event orders are accurately managed and documented.
- Manage food and beverage performance, including stock control, GP targets, and wastage management.
- Maintain high standards of venue presentation, ambience, and cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with liquor, gaming, and venue regulatory requirements.
- Monitor labour costs and assist with roster management.
- Prepare shift reports and communicate operational updates with the management team.
- Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous hospitality management experience in a pub, hotel, or large venue.
- Strong functions and events coordination experience.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Experience managing KPIs, labour, and financial performance.
- Solid understanding of venue compliance and operational procedures.
- Current RSA and ARCG certifications.
