The Role An opportunity is available for an experienced Banquet Duty Manager to join the Novotel Sydney International Airport team. This role offers the chance to create unforgettable guest experiences, overseeing everything from intimate executive meetings to large-scale conferences and gala dinners. We are seeking a passionate hospitality leader to ensure the seamless delivery of events.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate event execution with the Food & Beverage Manager, Conference & Events team, and Sales & Marketing team.
- Oversee event set-up, service delivery, and pack down, ensuring high standards are met.
- Manage profit and loss through inventory control and labour cost management.
- Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in achieving operational and financial budgets.
- Lead, train, and develop banquet operations Heartists.
- Support reward and recognition initiatives to maintain employee engagement and motivation.
- Manage all departmental activities and events before and after each function.
- Liaise with guests during events to ensure operational details and logistics are met.
- Maintain accurate service records and positive guest relations, ensuring product offerings meet company quality standards.
- Monitor inventory and maintain departmental equipment and presentation standards.
- Ensure endorsement of the Work Health & Safety Act and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in food and beverage, conferencing, or high-volume hospitality.
- Confident communicator with strong team leadership skills.
