Join The Navy's Anchorage in Osborne for an exciting opportunity as a Barista/Cafe All Rounder. This casual, onsite role offers a friendly team culture and a great work environment. We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing welfare and lifestyle benefits and services to Royal Australian Navy members through cafes located on naval bases and establishments across Australia.
About the Role As a Barista/Cafe All Rounder, you will contribute to creating positive customer experiences by delivering excellent customer service and expertly made coffee. This role operates Monday to Friday, with no nights or weekends, and offers guaranteed time off for Christmas and New Year. The position is rostered for approximately 15-20 hours per week. You will be paid under the Fast Food Industry Award.
Responsibilities:
- Consistently create excellent customer experiences.
- Prepare high-quality coffee.
- Maintain the safety and hygiene of your workspace and food.
- Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns.
About You We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused food and beverage environment, consistently delivering great customer service. You should understand the operations of this type of business and be able to quickly learn and adapt. You can identify opportunities to enhance daily performance for the benefit of customers and the business. You remain calm and confident under pressure, while also enjoying your work. You build strong relationships and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Attributes:
- Previous experience in a high-volume café, restaurant, or fast-food outlet.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Highly developed face-to-face customer service and communication skills.
- Barista, cooking, and sandwich hand experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of food handling and hygiene standards, preferably with a current Food Safety Certificate.
- Experience using POS, EFTPOS, and cash handling systems.
- Reliability and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- A high standard of grooming and presentation, as this is a front-of-house role.
- Ability to work early mornings is a must.
