Barista / Waitstaff – Casual

Old Butter Factory Café in Bellingen, NSW, is seeking a friendly, reliable, and experienced Barista/Waitstaff member to join their team on a casual, onsite basis.

This busy, family-run café prioritises quality coffee, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The role is ideal for an individual with solid barista experience, comfortable operating the coffee machine during peak service times. While the primary focus is on barista duties, responsibilities will extend to front-of-house tasks, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, clearing tables, and supporting the team during busy periods. The position requires an individual who takes pride in their work, demonstrates good manners, collaborates effectively with others, and understands the importance of reliability.

Experience is required for this role. Barista experience is preferred and highly regarded. Strong front-of-house/waiting experience will also be considered, but experience in at least one of these areas is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages according to café standards.
• Operate the espresso machine and grinder with confidence and care.
• Work efficiently on the coffee machine during busy periods.
• Maintain a clean and organised coffee station.
• Greet customers warmly and professionally.
• Accurately take food and drink orders.
• Deliver food and drinks to tables.
• Clear and reset tables as needed.
• Operate the POS system and process payments.
• Assist customers with menu queries and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace standards.
• Support the team during weekends, public holidays, and special events.

What We Are Looking For: Experience in either:

• Barista work and coffee making
• Front-of-house waiting and customer service

At least one of these is essential. The ideal candidate will be:
