About the Opportunity

Arcare is seeking a Cafe Attendant for a permanent part-time role in Essendon, working Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. This position offers a pay rate of $28.62 per hour, plus superannuation, with a 3% wage increase applied annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Deliver friendly and attentive service to residents, staff, and visitors. This includes greeting customers, taking orders, and processing transactions with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Food and Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a range of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, along with simple snacks and light meals offered at the café.
  • Menu Management: Contribute to the development and updating of the café menu, taking into account residents' dietary needs, preferences, and popular selections.
  • Cash Handling: Manage cash transactions accurately and securely.
  • Stock Management: Oversee inventory levels for food, beverages, and other café supplies, and initiate reordering as needed.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment, is kept clean and tidy, adhering to health and safety standards.

Skills and Experience:

  • Possession of a Food Handlers Certificate, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Adaptability, passion, and a willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative spirit and effective teamwork skills.
  • Friendly and effective communication abilities.
