Warrigal is offering an opportunity to contribute to aged care at our Queanbeyan home. In this role, you will apply your skills and knowledge to prepare well-presented, nutritional meals for residents, enhancing their food and dining experience. You will manage all aspects of catering and food production, including the supervision of catering staff, fostering your growth within the industry.
Position Details:
- Part-time position, 30 hours per week across 4 days.
- Required roster: Tuesday - Wednesday, 06:30 - 14:30 and Thursday - Friday, 09:30 - 17:30.
- Base rate: $35.10 per hour, plus Superannuation and NFP Packaging.

Requirements:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a similar qualification.
- Extensive cooking experience within a commercial setting.
- Demonstrated experience in bulk food preparation.
- Experience in ordering stock within budget guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated interpersonal skills and empathy towards older people.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise the work of others.
- An understanding of and ability to manage Work Health and Safety issues.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
- Commitment to workplace equity issues.
- Ability to ensure food service complies with NSW Food Authority requirements.
- First aid certificate.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the Aged Care Industry and/or related services.
