Children's Services Chef Torrensville Community Childcare Centre Torrensville Part-time, Onsite
Torrensville Community Childcare Centre is a place for forming bonds, nurturing young hearts, and fostering dreams, extending beyond traditional childcare.
We are seeking a fully qualified and highly skilled Cook/Chef for our Torrensville centre.
Are you passionate about inspiring young children through food? We are looking for an experienced chef with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a dedication to providing high-quality meals. This role offers the opportunity to plan and prepare nutritious, varied, and engaging meals for up to 77 children, catering to their diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Possess a Food Management Certificate (or equivalent trade qualification) or a minimum of 2 years of commercial cooking experience.
- Experience in ordering provisions/stock and menu planning within a commercial setting.
- Experience coordinating tasks for meal preparation, service, and post-meal cleanup.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to adhere to statutory regulations and accreditations, including food safety, WHS, and kitchen hygiene, with the capacity to complete associated documentation.
- Experience catering for a large number of children with varied dietary and health requirements.
- Ability to utilise technology and computer systems for research, food ordering, and menu planning.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Current South Australian driver’s licence.
- Right to work in Australia (VEVO check).
- First Aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma qualifications, or a willingness to obtain them.
