The Red Cross operates accommodation centres adjacent to hospitals, providing a home-away-from-home style environment for patients and their families during treatment. The Wellbeing Centre is one such facility, designed to be inclusive, healing, safe, and culturally appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare rooms for arriving guests, which includes making beds.
- Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and communal spaces within the accommodation centre.
- Maintain effective stocking of supplies and upkeep of storerooms.
- Report any property damage, hazards, or issues to minimise potential risks to staff, volunteers, guests, and members of the public.
- Coordinate laundry services.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning services within an accommodation centre or similar setting.
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, including manual handling, chemical storage, and use.
- Ability to prioritise tasks.
- Demonstrated reliability and work ethic.
- Strong customer focus.
- Ability to work a flexible roster as required.
Hours: This is a casual role with varying days and hours across a 7-day roster. This includes school holidays, public holidays, and weekends.

Work Type: Casual
Salary: From $27.55 per hour plus a 25% casual loading, in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award – Level 1.
