Mercure Sydney Blacktown is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Full Time Commis Chef to join its team of dedicated hospitality professionals. The role will primarily involve working breakfast shifts, preparing and serving food for the hotel buffet breakfast, and undertaking food preparation for the all-day dining menu and Distrikt Cafe.
Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility for the kitchen operations during shifts, including breakfast service.
- Maintain the highest standards in food preparation, presentation, and quality.
- Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast for the hotel buffet.
- Prepare food for Distrikt Cafe and the all-day dining menu.
- Assist with group dinners as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure ingredient quality and timely delivery.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and all dishes are washed at the end of each shift.
- Assist the General Manager with food orders and stock management.
- Oversee kitchen attendants as required.
Qualifications:
- Trade qualifications.
- Experience in buffet breakfast service/lunch service is preferred.
- Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality food while adhering to set food costs.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with service teams to ensure quality product and guest service.
- Great communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn and go above and beyond for guests.
