Matilda Bay Restaurant is seeking experienced hospitality professionals to join our team in Crawley.

Salary: $33.38 – $46.73 per hour Work Type: Full-time Location: Crawley (On-site)

About the Roles

These positions are for experienced Section Waitstaff and Function Staff. We are looking for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer service within a fast-paced, quality hospitality environment. These are not entry-level roles; we require candidates confident in working independently and maintaining high service standards from the outset.

Restaurant – Experienced Section Waitstaff

As a Section Waiter/Waitress, your responsibilities will include managing your own section and delivering warm, attentive, and professional service throughout each shift.

• Manage your own section of approximately 20 guests during service.
• Deliver exceptional food and beverage service with confidence and attention to detail.
• Recommend menu items and wines to enhance the guest experience.
• Build rapport with guests while maintaining efficient service during busy periods.
• Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and professionalism.

Restaurant Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Section Waiter/Waitress in a quality or fine dining restaurant.
• Confidence managing your own section during busy services.
• Strong food and beverage knowledge.
• Sound wine knowledge and confidence recommending wines from an extensive wine list.
• Ability to stay organised, calm, and professional under pressure.

Events – Experienced Function Staff

Our events team handles weddings, corporate events, and private functions. We are seeking experienced hospitality professionals who enjoy creating memorable guest experiences.

• Deliver professional food and beverage service at weddings, corporate events, and private functions.
• Provide plated, alternate drop, canapé, and beverage service.
• Assist with event set-up and pack-down.
• Work efficiently with the events team to ensure every event runs smoothly.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude while delivering exceptional customer service.

Function Staff Requirements

• Previous experience working weddings, corporate events, or large-scale functions.
• Confidence working in fast-paced hospitality environments.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Essential for Both Roles
