Peppers Silo Hotel, a $30 million redevelopment of the Kings Wharf grain silos in Launceston, Tasmania, comprises nine storeys and 108 rooms, with 52 rooms situated within the former silos. The hotel offers views of Seaport, Royal Park, the Tamar River Basin, and Cataract Gorge. Facilities include Silo Day Spa on the ground floor and Grain of the Silos on Level 1, which encompasses a restaurant, café, and Woody's Bar, all focusing on local produce. Launceston, northern Tasmania's largest city, is a centre for gastronomy with a variety of wineries, distilleries, markets, and art galleries.
Purpose
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will warmly welcome guests and guide them through our culinary offerings. You will recommend standout dishes and beverages, demonstrating expertise in food and drink. Your attention to detail, commitment to guest satisfaction, and collaborative approach are essential for event success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, making every moment memorable and every experience a story.
- Transform challenges into opportunities through problem-solving and positivity.
- Enhance dining experiences with personalised food and beverage suggestions in outlets and at events.
- Upsell by crafting unforgettable experiences that encourage guests to return.
- Proactively gather information to expand product knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to ensure seamless teamwork.
- Maintain service areas through meticulous setup and pack-down.
Skills and Experience
- Proven customer service experience in the hospitality sector.
- Proficiency in food and beverage protocols, including table service, beverage knowledge, event service, and coffee preparation skills (strongly valued).
- Adaptability across diverse food and beverage settings, with flexibility for varied schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Possession of a valid RSA or equivalent qualification for the specific Country / State / Territory.
- Passion for engaging with patrons and collaborating within a diverse team.
