Food & Beverage Supervisor - Functions
Royal Sydney Golf Club, a premier private members' club situated in Rose Bay, seeks a full-time Food & Beverage Supervisor for its Functions and Events team. As one of Australia’s most prominent social and sporting institutions, Royal Sydney boasts world-class sporting facilities and a reputation for excellence.
The Role
This hands-on position involves leading daily service operations to deliver exceptional experiences for members and guests. Reporting to the Functions Operations Manager, you will assist in leading a dynamic team, ensuring smooth event execution, maintaining 5-star service standards, and supporting staff training. This is an onsite, full-time role requiring availability for a rotating roster, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, in line with event schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example through hands-on service, delivering consistent, high-quality service to members and guests.
- Supervise event setup and takedown, acting as the main point of contact to ensure smooth operations, providing direction, support, and motivation.
- Collaborate with management on staff rostering to meet labour standards and operational needs.
- Oversee the training and onboarding of new employees through on-the-job coaching and development.
- Perform general administration and coordinate the day-to-day requirements for the Functions team with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Oversee events from commencement to completion, ensuring high-quality, professional service aligned with the Club's standards and allocated budget.
- Collaborate with management in fostering a positive, supportive, team-oriented, high-performing workplace culture.
Who We Need
- Experience in a similar role within Functions and/or Events operations.
- Knowledge of event service sequences and extensive food and beverage expertise.
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage time and scheduled tasks, while remaining resilient and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing up to 10 staff.
- Expertise in food and beverage pairings.
- Food Hygiene Certification and NSW RSA qualification.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with members, staff, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated passion for excellence in customer service.
- Full working rights in Australia.
