Department of Health Hobart TAS Part-time, On-site Salary: $59,668 to $65,185 per annum (Pro rata) + 12% Super

The Department of Health in Tasmania is seeking a Food Services Officer to join a dedicated team supporting the health and wellbeing of patients and staff across Tasmania’s public hospitals and health facilities. This team collaborates to ensure the safe preparation, handling, and delivery of nutritious meals that cater to diverse dietary and clinical requirements. With a strong emphasis on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork, the Food Services team contributes directly to patient care and recovery within a fast-paced environment.

The Role

As a Food Services Officer, your responsibilities will include the preparation, portioning, and delivery of meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare setting. You will ensure that meals meet all dietary, nutritional, and hygiene standards, thereby supporting patient recovery and wellbeing. This role involves working collaboratively within a team, adhering to food safety protocols, operating kitchen equipment, and contributing to a clean and efficient food service environment.

Details of Appointment

This is a permanent part-time, shift worker position, working 30 hours per fortnight. Commencing as soon as possible. Hours are to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary: $59,668 to $65,185 per annum (Pro rata). A 12% employer superannuation contribution is in addition to this amount. The salary range aligns with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
• Salary Packaging: Access to salary packaging for benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

Relevant qualification/s in food preparation/production are desirable.
