Verandah House Country Estate

Verandah House Country Estate, a luxury accommodation situated on Tamborine Mountain, is seeking an experienced and well-presented Front of House Manager for a full-time role. This five-star, boutique hotel with 8 suites operates as a family business with a small, collaborative team environment.

Our ethos is to "Always Exceed Guest Expectations," reflected in our outstanding reviews. We provide guests with a range of services including activities, elopements, exclusive use group bookings, spa treatments, and themed occasions such as Christmas in July, Rodeo, Mother’s Day, and Wellness retreats. We are looking for a dynamic individual driven to maintain our high standards of customer service, possessing a friendly demeanour and a willingness to engage professionally with guests, ensuring all their needs and requirements are met.

Requirements:

Candidates MUST possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Prior experience in five-star hotels.
  • An understanding of the luxury market and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Highly experienced in administration roles.
  • A professional presentation and friendly personality, with a willingness to engage with guests.
  • Reliability and self-motivation.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus and commitment to delivering high standards of service.
  • Strong computer and administration skills.
  • Previous working knowledge of RMS or other booking platforms, including OTAs like Booking.com and Expedia.
  • Ability to supervise housekeeping operations.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience in implementing systems and procedures.
  • A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are essential.
  • A current RSA.
  • Australian residency for tax purposes.

Knowledge of Xero is not essential but would be a bonus.

Responsibilities:

As our hotel ambassador, you will be responsible for delivering a high level of customer service and ensuring all guest expectations are exceeded. This includes:

  • Providing courteous, professional, efficient, and intuitive service, leveraging local and hotel knowledge to create unforgettable guest experiences.
  • Ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes and payment processing.
  • Generating daily reports.
  • Performing front office tasks, utilising RMS and our upcoming system, Mews, along with online booking systems (Expedia, Booking.com).
  • Assisting with managing rates, guest enquiries, packages, spa bookings, guest reviews, and OTA promotions.
  • Compiling weekly occupancy reports and sales data.
  • Event coordination, including efficient organisation, adherence to timelines, payment management, vendor booking, and guest liaison.
  • Ordering linen and stock.
  • Ensuring the highest standard of cleanliness and housekeeping, including inspecting suites prior to guest check-ins.
  • Management of housekeeping staff, including rostering.
  • Ordering of hotel stock.
  • Record keeping and general administrative duties.

Work Details:

  • Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 per year
  • Work type: Full-time
  • Location: Tamborine Mountain
  • Hours: Required to work Saturdays, weekends, and public holidays on a fair roster rotation.
