Mercure Perth on Hay is a 127-room, full-service property situated in Perth CBD, near the Swan River. Following recent refurbishments, the hotel now features multiple conference spaces and an expansive indoor/outdoor food and beverage area, offering opportunities to create exceptional guest experiences.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Front Office Manager will:

  • Lead the Front Office Team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
  • Cultivate welcoming environments and memorable moments for both guests and the team.
  • Provide excellent customer service and professionally resolve guest issues promptly.
  • Empower team members to exceed guest expectations.
  • Coach and mentor Guest Service Agents and Assistant Managers to support their career development.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to identify improvement areas.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of front office policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager on hotel projects, reports, and initiatives, working with the entire hotel team.
  • Undertake responsibilities beyond the traditional Front Office Manager scope to enhance skills and serve as a key support to the General Manager.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant experience within the hotel industry.
  • Previous Assistant Management experience (2+ years), suitable for progression in a Front Office career.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Opera Cloud.
  • A guest-focused approach with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Capability to manage change and provide swift solutions to emerging issues.
  • Leadership qualities, with a willingness to assist colleagues and maintain strong communication with other departments.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work across a 7-day roster, including potential overnight shifts.
  • Possession of a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, Approved Manager status, and a valid First Aid certificate, or a commitment to obtain these prior to commencement.
