Hospitality Manager Byron Bay Golf Club Byron Bay Full-time, Onsite

Byron Bay Golf Club serves as a central point for members and a welcoming destination for visitors, fostering memorable experiences daily. Our hospitality underpins all activities, from casual after-game refreshments to formal celebrations. We are a community-focused club with a relaxed atmosphere, yet we maintain a strong commitment to exceptional service. We are seeking a Hospitality Manager to contribute to the continued delivery of high-quality experiences for our members and guests.

The Role This is a diverse position encompassing venue management, event coordination, gaming compliance, and team development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of our hospitality operations, ensuring their smooth functioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food & Beverage:
  • Lead bar and dining operations, including menu creation, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing stock control.
  • Monitor Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), wastage, and pricing strategies to meet F&B revenue and margin targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) regulations and maintain food safety standards.
  • Events:
  • Manage the planning and execution of corporate golf days, wakes, private functions, and weddings, from initial enquiry through to financial reconciliation.
  • Administer event contracts, deposits, invoicing, and conduct post-event follow-up.
  • Gaming:
  • Oversee the operation of 12 Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), Keno, and TAB services in accordance with NSW gaming legislation.
  • Maintain compliance documentation, including self-exclusion registers and the Responsible Gambling Code of Practice.
  • People & Finance:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team across F&B, gaming, and events departments.
  • Prepare staff rosters, manage departmental budgets, and assist with weekly banking and cash reconciliation.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing hospitality operations within a licensed venue or club.
  • Current RSA and RCG (or equivalent) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with EGMs, Keno, TAB, and NSW gaming compliance.
  • A proven track record in planning and managing events of various scales.
  • Comfortable with budget management, cash handling, and weekly banking procedures.
  • A confident and approachable team leader who contributes positively to the workplace environment.

Desirable:

  • A tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using club management software such as Micropower, Ivvy, or similar platforms.
  • Prior experience within a registered club setting.
