Muswellbrook Shire Council is seeking a Hospitality Manager to oversee the organisation's hospitality functions, primarily based at the Art Gallery Café. This role focuses on coordinating and facilitating hospitality training courses and work experience opportunities. The Hospitality Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Council’s hospitality operations, ensuring commercial success and the delivery of high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily café operations, including ordering, inventory tracking, stock rotation, and budget management.
- Lead and manage the hospitality team, comprising casual staff and work placement students, to ensure the Art Gallery Training Cafe provides a high-quality hospitality offering to visitors and the community.
- Develop and adjust seasonal menus and product offerings to meet market requirements.
- Cultivate relationships with local providers to promote the use of local products.
- Deliver a high level of customer service to the community, patrons, and students.
- Coordinate, schedule, and promote a variety of hospitality courses in collaboration with training providers, Muswellbrook High School, other schools, TAFE, and private businesses.
About You:
- Possession of a Certificate of Food Safety Supervisor or a willingness to obtain one is desirable.
- A Certificate II or III in Food Operations is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience of at least five years operating a café or hospitality business, including managing budgets and stock handling.
- Proven experience in developing and monitoring food safety practices.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with training providers and educational institutions.
- A Working with Children Check is required.
- A Driver's License is desirable.

- A temporary full-time position for a term contract until December 2028, working 35 hours per week.
- Salary ranging from $87,349 to $94,259 per year, dependent on qualifications, skills, and experience, plus 12% superannuation.
