Hotel Receptionist - Home Inn Australia (Wagga Wagga)

Home Inn Australia is seeking a Hotel Receptionist for a casual position at our Wagga Wagga, NSW location. This role serves as the initial point of contact for guests, playing a key part in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable guest experience. The position is vital for maintaining the professional image and operational efficiency of the hotel.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting guests upon arrival and managing check-ins and check-outs with efficiency and courtesy.
  • Handling room reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the property management system.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and requests in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Addressing guest complaints and concerns with patience and resolution, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate guest records and confidential information.
  • Providing information on hotel facilities, local attractions, and dining options.
  • Answering telephone inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
  • Processing payments and securely managing cash and card transactions.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, including filing, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Collaborating with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitoring lobby and front desk areas to ensure they remain clean, welcoming, and secure.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in hotel reception, front office, or customer service (or a similar hospitality setting).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with hotel management software and computer systems (training will be provided if necessary).
  • A welcoming and professional demeanour with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and payment processing.

Preferred:

  • Hospitality qualifications or certificates (such as Certificate III in Hospitality).
