The Position
Amana Living is seeking a Kitchen Hand for its Frederick Guest Hotel in Bull Creek. This permanent part-time role involves supporting meal preparation and maintaining kitchen organisation, contributing to resident comfort and a sense of home. The position offers 31.5 hours per fortnight.
The schedule is as follows:
Week 1:
- Monday: 15:30-19:00
- Wednesday: 15:30-19:00
- Thursday: 15:30-19:00
- Saturday: 15:30-19:00
Week 2:
- Monday: 15:30-19:00
- Tuesday: 15:30-19:00
- Wednesday: 15:30-19:00
- Saturday: 15:30-19:00
- Sunday: 15:30-19:00
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and plate food, serve and clear away meals according to food preparation schedules.
- Maintain food preparation and serving areas to hygiene standards.
- Engage with residents in a manner consistent with organisational values.
- Consider resident lifestyles and personal choices.
- Maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Collect temperature and cleaning records weekly for manager review.
- Record dietary changes on the master printout.
- Monitor and replenish stock requirements such as bread, milk, OJ, and yoghurt.
- Replenish shopping supplies as needed when items are unavailable from the usual supplier.
Essential Criteria:
- Evidence of Current Flu vaccination in line with Amana Living policies.
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (valid for 6 months).
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks.
- NDIS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as required.
- Willingness to attend a 1-day paid induction at our Rivervale Training Institute.
