Star of the Sea Home for the Aged is seeking a dependable and keen Casual Kitchen Hand to join its hospitality team.

Working collaboratively with chefs and cooks, you will contribute to the provision of nutritious meals while upholding a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment. Your contribution is key to fostering a positive dining experience for residents. About You You are reliable, diligent, and enjoy functioning as part of a team.

You will possess:

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, hospitality, or food service setting (preferred but not essential).
• A positive outlook and a readiness to acquire new skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
• The capacity to work efficiently in a busy environment.
• A dedication to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as needed.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and food service.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas.
• Receive and store deliveries.
• Adhere to food safety, infection prevention, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Support chefs and cooks with general kitchen tasks.
• Contribute to ensuring residents receive high-quality meals and excellent service.

Requirements Successful applicants will be required to possess or obtain:

• A current National Police Check.
• A current Influenza Vaccination and the ability to meet aged care vaccination mandates.
• Evidence of the right to work in Australia.
• Satisfactory referee checks.
