Housekeeper Positions at Maze Backpackers – Haymarket

Maze Backpackers is seeking individuals for full-time and casual Housekeeper roles at our Haymarket location, conveniently situated near Central.

About the Role:

This position offers an immediate start for a Night Housekeeper, with day shifts also available. Our hostel accommodates up to 480 international and domestic guests, maintaining high occupancy throughout most of the year. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, your daily responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning guests' private rooms post-checkout, including linen changes and general cleaning, to prepare them for incoming guests.
• Inspecting dormitory rooms to confirm checkout beds are clean and the room is tidy and welcoming for arriving guests.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere of all common areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, and the lobby.
• The ability to work independently when required.
• Performing tasks that necessitate being physically fit, involving lifting and carrying.
• Cleaning bathrooms.
• Making beds.
• Cleaning corridors.
• Assisting with linen and supply deliveries as needed.

Availability:

Candidates must be available to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.

Requirements:

• Previous housekeeping experience in a commercial setting (not private homes) is required.
• Two business reference checks with previous employers will be conducted.
• Proficiency in English is essential for communication via radio with the manager.
