Motel Manager
j-Corp Resort Services Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and reliable professional to manage the accommodation and food and beverage outlet at Grande Escape Resort. This onsite, full-time role is suited to an individual who enjoys hospitality, customer service, and leading a small team, requiring hands-on management.
Responsibilities for the Motel Manager position include:
- Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing team, including supervising stock ordering.
- Overseeing and managing daily operations across all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Driving revenue growth through innovative strategies, unique events, and exceptional customer service.
- Managing budgets and financial reporting, ensuring cost controls are in place.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and health & safety requirements.
- Fostering relationships with the local community and enhancing the hotel's reputation.
- Managing hotel services, specifically accommodation and the food and beverage outlet.
- Proficient use of the RMS booking system, managing OTAs and Siteminder.
- Overseeing events and conferences.
- Constructing pricing packages and contracts for corporate groups and coaches.
- Managing corporate bookings and enquiries.
- Human resource management.
- Effectively rostering and managing timesheets, providing a weekly report to the payroll team.
- Safeguarding security and compliance, inspecting where necessary.
- Managing cash, EFTPOS, and daily and weekly reports.
- Analyzing sales figures, reports, and market segments and channels to define the best-suited pricing and distribution strategies.
Responsibilities for the Hotel Service Manager position include:
- Supervising daily operations and coordinating hotel service workers to ensure exceptional guest experiences. This involves managing teams across front office and housekeeping, balancing staff rosters, resolving grievances, and maintaining rigorous safety standards.
- Inspecting rooms to ensure a high standard.
- Proficient use of the RMS booking system, managing OTAs and Siteminder.
- Ability to write corporate and coach contracts and negotiate packages.
- Ability to set special packages to ensure maximising revenue.
- Directing and delegating duties to housekeepers, maintenance, and reception staff.
- Maintaining attendance records, completing and managing shift rosters, resolving staff grievances, and enforcing safety regulations.
- Working effectively with the food and beverage department to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
- Performing front office reception duties and ensuring all hotel amenities meet strict brand and hygiene standards.
- Overseeing the efficiency of hotel units and suggesting operational improvements.
- Managing the RMS booking system to ensure the pricing structure is correct and all guest requests have been met.
Requirements for both positions:
- AQF Certificate III/IV or Diploma in hospitality management with three years of relevant on-the-job training or industry experience.
- Previous motel, hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Professional and friendly attitude.
Additional requirements for the Hotel Service Manager position:
- Specialisation as a Front Office Manager or Duty Manager with housekeeping experience.
- RMS and past experience in food and beverage would be an advantage.
A valid driver’s licence is preferred.
