Kotara Bowling Club is a growing local club seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and contribute to its future expansion. This role reports to the General Manager and Board.
About the Role
This is a comprehensive, hands-on position focused on managing the club's day-to-day functions. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the smooth operation of the bar, gaming, TAB/Keno, kitchen, functions, and front-of-house services. This role offers ownership of the entire venue rather than a specialised area.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across bar, gaming, TAB/Keno, and functions.
- Manage the club's kitchen operations as food services are brought in-house, including menu oversight, food quality, cost management, and compliance.
- Lead, roster, and support front-of-house, bar, and kitchen staff.
- Drive function bookings and maximise the utilisation of indoor function spaces and the outdoor green.
- Manage stock, ordering, suppliers, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with liquor, gaming, food safety, and RSA/RCG regulations.
- Support member experience and contribute to growing local patronage.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on budgets, reporting, and performance analysis.
Requirements
- Experience in club, pub, or hospitality operations management.
- Strong people-leadership and rostering skills.
- Experience overseeing a commercial kitchen or food operation.
- A sound understanding of licensed venue compliance, including RSA, RCG, and food safety. Gaming experience is a plus.
- A strong commercial acumen, with comfort in managing stock, margins, and cost control.
- A hands-on approach and genuine warmth in interactions with members and locals.
- Current RSA and RCG competency cards, or a willingness to obtain them.
