Fishheads Restaurant in Byron Bay is seeking an experienced Chef to become part of our energetic team. This full-time position involves close collaboration with our Group Head Chef to ensure outstanding dining experiences for patrons. You will have the chance to demonstrate your culinary expertise in a demanding and lively setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu planning, recipe creation, and food preparation.
• Leading and overseeing kitchen personnel to ensure consistent, high-quality food output.
• Adhering to stringent food safety and hygiene standards.
• Managing inventory and placing necessary orders.
• Working with the front-of-house team to deliver excellent customer service.
• Implementing continuous improvements to enhance kitchen efficiency.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Qualified Chef in a fast-paced restaurant setting.
• Thorough understanding of food preparation, plating, and presentation techniques.
• Proficiency in time management and multitasking within a busy kitchen.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead and guide a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
• A commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients for creating flavourful, innovative dishes.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
• Possession of a food safety and hygiene certification.
