Q Station Sydney Harbour National Park is seeking an engaging and capable Tour Supervisor to assist in leading, facilitating, and enhancing visitor experiences. This includes iconic history tours, ghost tours, education programs, school holiday activities, corporate programs, and recreational hire. Your responsibilities will include providing a consistent and experienced evening presence across Q Station’s visitor experiences, ensuring tours operate smoothly, safely, and to a high standard. You will deliver immersive and atmospheric tours that bring Q Station’s history and mystery to life for guests, employing a creative and informative approach to ensure memorable experiences.

Q Station Hotel (North Head Operations Pty Ltd) is situated in Sydney Harbour National Park, Manly. It offers boutique accommodation, wedding venues, conference facilities, a waterfront restaurant, and Sydney’s premier ghost and history tours. The Opportunity:
The Tour Supervisor role is integral to providing consistency, oversight, and operational support across Q Station’s tour experiences, encompassing history tours, ghost tours (as required), education programs, group activities, and visitor programs. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and engaging experiences while supporting casual guides through training, feedback, and supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Experience Manager, you will be central to the team's success in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Lead and deliver engaging, accurate, and memorable history tours, ghost tours, education programs, and corporate group experiences.
- Supervise tour operations, including guest arrivals, late bookings, enquiries, guest transport support, and tour logistics.
- Support ghost tour operations as needed.
- Support casual guides and team members through practical guidance, feedback, communication, and on-the-job training.
- Assist with the onboarding, training, and development of new tour and visitor experience team members.
- Conduct site checks before tours and activities to identify hazards and ensure areas are safe, prepared, and presented to standard.
- Support the tours desk, including responding to phone and email enquiries, bookings, reservations, and guest questions.
- Maintain accurate records of tour schedules, participant numbers, feedback, incidents, and operational requirements.
- Assist with the set-up, pack-down, and coordination of tour equipment, lanterns, activity resources, and recreational hire equipment.
- Support school holiday programs, children’s activities, nature walks, scavenger hunts, craft sessions, education programs, and outdoor activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to guest matters, incidents, weather impacts, safety concerns, or operational changes.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all tours, activities, and guest experiences.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in tour guiding, visitor experience, tourism, hospitality, education, events, theatre, or a similar guest-facing environment.
- Confidence delivering engaging commentary to diverse audiences.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to create a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
- A genuine interest in history, storytelling, heritage, and Q Station’s unique site.
- The ability to supervise, support, and provide constructive feedback to casual team members.
- Strong administration skills, including confidence managing enquiries, bookings, reservations, and reports.
- A calm, practical, and solutions-focused approach during evening operations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep tours running safely and on time.
- Comfort working outdoors, after dark, and across varied terrain.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- A commitment to safety, guest care, and professional standards.
- Hold (or be able to obtain) a valid Working With Children Check.
- Hold (or be able to obtain) a valid First Aid Certificate.
- Working knowledge of the NSW curriculum is advantageous.
