Travel Consultant - Retail and Direct - Remote

The Role

As a Reservations Consultant within our Call Centre, you will engage with both Travel Agents and direct passengers. Your responsibilities encompass the entire booking process pre-tour, including initial sales, booking flights, accommodation, transfers, and upselling. You will efficiently manage all enquiries and booking requests in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately making and maintaining reservations for customers and industry partners via phone, chat, or email.
  • Recommending additional add-ons and tour experiences to enrich the customer's tour.
  • Booking flights to complement tour packages.
  • Addressing and resolving complaints and booking issues to achieve satisfactory outcomes for customers.
  • Cultivating relationships with customers and agency partners to ensure their confidence and foster loyalty.
  • Adapting to changing situations as they occur.

The role operates on a Monday to Friday roster from 8am to 6pm (AEST), with occasional Saturdays and paid overtime. An initial 3-week full-time training period is required, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (AEST).

This role commences on Friday, 28th August. Please note that applicants residing within Melbourne Metro are not eligible for this specific role and are encouraged to apply for our Hybrid position.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Travel industry experience or relevant qualifications.
  • Experience working with various GDS platforms and/or booking systems; Sabre experience is preferred.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent attention to detail is a must.
  • The ability to manage last-minute changes and fluctuating workloads.
  • A willingness to continually learn and grow.
  • A positive and can-do attitude.
