Sunrise Surveying Pty Ltd, a leading land surveying firm on Australia’s East Coast, is experiencing rapid growth and seeks an experienced 12d Designer/Modeller/Data Technician to join our professional, close-knit team. This full-time, onsite position is located in Brisbane, QLD, with a salary range of $100,000 – $150,000 per year.
About the Role
This role supports a range of civil infrastructure projects across road, rail, urban development, and utilities. It is suited for a detail-oriented modeller who thrives on collaborating with engineers, surveyors, and project teams to produce accurate, high-quality design models.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage 12d models/datasets for civil infrastructure projects.
- Create and update alignments, surfaces, corridors, and earthworks models using dynamic inhouse-developed systems.
- Produce design models suitable for quantity analysis/verification, construction phasing, set-out, and machine control.
- Coordinate with survey, engineering, and construction teams to ensure model accuracy.
- Review and interpret design drawings and specifications, communicating any issues effectively.
- Maintain model standards, naming conventions, and version control through inhouse systems.
- Assist with quantities, clash detection, and design optimisation where required.
About You
- Proven experience using 12d Model, with specific experience in MTFs, Super-Alignment Creator/Editor, and plotting (standard and multi-sheet). 12d Synergy experience is desirable.
- A strong understanding of civil design and construction workflows.
- Experience on road, rail, subdivision, or major infrastructure projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and survey data.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a self-guided/agile learner.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Background or interest in software development, coding, or task automation is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with machine control systems (Topcon, Trimble, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of Australian design standards and specifications is desirable but not essential.
- A surveying or civil engineering background is desirable but not essential.
- Full Australian working rights are required; no sponsorship will be offered.
