Hitachi Rail STS Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland. This is a full-time, remote position.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual comfortable in a fast-paced setting, capable of undertaking a spectrum of tasks from administrative to strategic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning engineering activities in collaboration with the Project Manager and system/subsystem design teams.
- Managing engineering delivery and change processes.
- Overseeing design reviews and management.
- Providing engineering status reports, including risk reviews.
- Handling technical approvals and configuration management.
- Engaging in systems engineering.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted with a focus on safety.
Key Knowledge and Experience:
- A degree in Engineering or Computer Science, with a background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Project Engineering role, including experience in rail, systems, and signalling.
- Experience in turnkey projects within rail signalling is highly desirable, particularly with systems such as ETCS, ERTMS, and CBTC.
- Proven experience in effective resource management and working within large, multi-cultural teams.
- Experience in real-time systems engineering, testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices, and safety-critical techniques.
- An agile mindset, with the ability to make prompt decisions in challenging environments.
- Capacity to analyse data and derive insights for informed decision-making.
- Ability to establish and cultivate key stakeholder relationships.
