Accountant Bunge South Australia full-time, onsite

This is a long-term career opportunity within a leading agribusiness. The role is key within a dynamic finance team.

About the role Bunge seeks an experienced and motivated Accountant to join its South Australian finance team on a permanent basis. This varied role offers exposure to management, financial, and tax accounting, providing opportunities to enhance existing skills and further develop your career. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will assist stakeholders across the business in understanding financial performance and making business decisions. Key tasks include month-end accounting processes and reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal reporting. The role also involves external reporting requirements, including statutory reporting and the preparation of tax submissions. All team members are encouraged to identify and implement improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of finance processes.

Duties

  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
  • Perform GL and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance and supporting documentation.
  • Produce weekly and daily financial reports (working capital, inventory, stock positions).
  • Support budgeting, accruals, and financial analysis to ensure data accuracy and insights.
  • Assist with intercompany transactions, audits, and adherence to SOX/internal controls.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, system implementations, and process improvements.
  • Provide cross-functional support across AP, AR, and wider finance operations, including stakeholder collaboration.

About you

  • Experience in financial reporting, including G/L reconciliations.
  • Sound accounting skills set, including general accounting tasks and AP/AR.
  • Experience working within the agricultural industry within New Zealand would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant commodities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
